Andrea lives in Chemnitz. Before retiring, she worked as a teacher. As a result, she has a good feel for language and an eye for detail - all qualities that she brings to the volunteer editorial team of Chemnitz 2025.

On Saturday, 9 March 2024, at 1.30 pm, 38 interested people met to take part in a guided tour of the city under the above-mentioned theme.

The meeting point was in the inner courtyard of the Schmidtbank Passage. Here, the participants were welcomed by city guide Ramona Wagner and given the most important information about Chemnitz - European Capital of Culture 2025.

The second stop on the tour was not far away at the Hartmannfabrik. This will be home to the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH team from May 2024 and is the contact point for the city's guests.

The tour then continued to the bus stop on route 32, where the participants ended at the former Altendorf goods station. This is where the Bürgerpark am Pleißenbach is being created as part of the Capital of Culture, a place for residents and visitors to relax and socialise.

The last stop on the tour was the birthplace of Karl Schmidt Rottluff. The former mill has been reconstructed in recent years by an association and converted into a museum. The family's later home, on the other hand, is still being remodelled and should be completed by 2025.

This interesting tour ended here after about 2 hours.
