On the first round of the DFB-Pokal, the local football club Chemnitzer FC will support its city with a special campaign, thus demonstrating that culture and sport can support each other in Chemnitz. The players of head coach Daniel Berlinski will appear in a specially designed city jersey for the home match match against Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The jersey was designed and developed in close cooperation with Fanszene Chemnitz e.V.

The city jersey is enhanced on the front by a skyline silhouette of the city of Chemnitz and visually underpins the bond to one’s own city. The royal blue sleeves and player trousers of the same colour are based on the colours of the FC Karl-Marx-Stadt and thus symbolise the roots of today’s Chemnitzer FC.

The logo of our campaign as European Capital of Culture shines in bright colours on the back of the jersey.

The Fanszene Chemnitz e.V. with board member Niels Vogt was significantly involved in the design of the city jersey: “With the jersey, we want to set an example of community and, with the Chemnitz skyline, above all, show the bond between the CFC and its fans and their own city. This jersey was made by Chemnitzers for Chemnitz,” explained Niels Vogt.

The city jersey will be available from Friday in the CFC online shop. The special Jerserys can also be tried on and purchased for the first time for the DFB Cup home game on Sunday (13 September) in the CFC fan shop at the stadium – An der Gellertstraße.
