How can culture stimulate dialogue in urban society? With discussion rounds, workshops, exhibitions, readings, music, music, music – Kosmos Chemnitz will show: at more than 50 locations in the city and with countless very different actors.

When the urban society is discussed on every corner, when art and culture bring people together, then the process for Chemnitz2025 is in full swing. To add a little European flair, we have invited a colleague from Faro, Portugal, for July 4:

Bruno Inácio is head of the cultural department of the Portuguese municipality of Faro and coordinator of the Açoteia – Faro Rooftop Festival, which took place for the first time from 20-22 June 2019.

On the rooftops of the city, which hopes to become European Capital of Culture in 2027, music, dance, cinema, exhibitions and theatre for the whole family invited visitors to view the açoteias (roofs) from the point of view of their cultural potential.

The experience of the last weekend will bring Bruno Inácio very fresh to Chemnitz, because although roof terraces do not have the same tradition here as in the south, the eastern modernity in the city provides us with so many flat roofs that their use as an energy source, city garden, neighbourhood meeting point or cabaret stage should at least be considered. Or should we? That’s why we would like to welcome many participants on July 4th in the Panorama Restaurant of the Dorint Hotel to: Chemnitz2025 | The Thrill of Heights
