More city greenery for everyone! This was a wish of the citizens of Chemnitz. Therefore, in July, together with a local initative, Saatgutgarten Nachhall e.V., and several housing cooperatives in Chemnitz, as well as the municipality of the City of Chemnitz flowering meadows were sown. But growth needs time. So that the meadows can also flourish in rest, signs had to be put up. And who better to design this than 100 creative children’s hands?

So a local socialcultural centre, Kraftwerk e.V., created a total of 25 signs together with children from a elementary school, DPFA-Regenbogen-Grundschule Chemnitz. The children contributed creatively by designing the writing and embellishing it with funny insects and flowers. This was also a good opportunity to get into contact with nature and our application as European Capital of Culture 2025. Finally, the boards were worked on and assembled by the Kraftwerk e.V.- and the first signs were set up by pupils of the fourth grade in a local park, called Konkordiapark.
