The Saxon State Government will support the applications of the cities of Chemnitz, Dresden and Zittau for the title of European Capital of Culture 2025 with 100,000 euros each before the end of this year. This was announced today by the Saxon Minister of Art, Dr. Eva-Maria Stange.

“I am very pleased that we can support our three candidate cities with these additional funds. For their applications, the three cities are currently developing concepts for human and cultural interaction in our society with the involvement of the region. That is why it is not just a matter of winning a title, but of getting into conversation with each other through the application process: How do we want to live together in this society? What contribution can each individual make to this? What role does culture play in this? What does Europe mean for each individual”, said Minister Dr. Eva-Maria Stange.
