Ferenc Csak, head of the cultural office, was on tour in the region on 5 December. In exchange with Mayor Nico Dittmann (Thalheim), Sylvio Krause (Amtsberg) and Dieter Greysinger (Hainichen) as well as their administrative staff, various questions could be discussed together: How can vacant properties be used, what synergies would arise for the region if a cultural region Chemnitz were to become more visible for the approximately 750,000 inhabitants? How can authentic places in the hearts remain present as future places with history? These were only three questions that were discussed in the individual cities. On the way to becoming European Capital of Culture, Chemnitz wants to develop the region one and targeted artistic-cultural focal points on an equal footing with the region’s actors.
