Working in the home office. Exchange with project partners, cultural actors, international experts – all only in video conferences. This has also made work very difficult for us and the other applicant cities in the last few weeks. That’s why we were in constant exchange with the Kulturstiftung der Länder as the organiser of the German application process. And now it is certain: “The submission of the second application book will be extended by seven weeks until 21 September 2020” The jury will then visit our city on 22 October. Four days later we will present our plans for 2025 once again at the final jury meeting in Berlin – and on 28 October 2020 we will hopefully hear: Chemnitz will be the European Capital of Culture in 2025.
