There’s a lot going on at the garage campus in Kappel! As an intervention area within the framework of the European Capital of Culture 2025, the former Tram Depot on Zwickauer Straße will change over the next few years and become a central program venue.

What might that look like? A first glimpse was given last weekend with this year’s edition of the RAW Festival. In the interactive exhibitor area, there was not only a lot to discover with the four program pillars and exciting microprojects, but it was also possible to listen to an exciting panel discussion on various projects of the cultural capital.

The Bohemian brunch was more hearty, with the appropriate brass band music.

A special highlight for the younger visitors: Karin and Klaus, who delighted the audience with their homemade toys and are true Chemnitz makers.

The cultural event began in 2016 at the Reichsbahn repair works, the so-called RAW site. As a fixed component of the Days of Industrial Culture, the RAW Festival changes its location every year and makes industrial culture a hands-on experience.
