Together on the road – whether in a club, as a private individual or as a recreational athlete:in – in connection with the “European Peace Ride”, SPORTS UNITED celebrated its premiere on September 4, 2022 and is entering its second round this year.

Here, the focus is by no means on the performance character, but rather on the valuable sense of community, which on the one hand invites people to exchange with others and on the other hand is able to overcome social divides. SPORTS UNITED is intended to offer many participants the opportunity to become actively involved in the Capital of Culture year through sport.

In 2023, e-bike, mountain bike or children’s and running bike tours will be offered, among other things. Sports enthusiasts and those who want to become one can register online for one-day and multi-day tours of various sports that will take place from September 8 to 10, 2023.

The new event format was organized in cooperation by the Chemnitz City Sports Association, several sports clubs, Akteur:innen and C³ Chemnitzer Veranstaltungszentren GmbH.

The project “SPORTS UNITED” is one of the projects for the program of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and the Kulturhauptstadt GmbH supports the development process of the project.
