Every year on the Tag der deutschen Einheit, 3 October, one federal state hosts the celebrations on behalf of the other. This year it was Saxony-Anhalt’s turn to celebrate in Halle/Saale. We were invited to present our Capital of Culture programme on behalf of Saxony. Of course, we did not miss the opportunity to show what Chemnitz has to offer over the past weekend.

In the “Chemnitz Revue in vier Häppchen” we played, sang and competed. We played bingo together with the people from Halle and for the first time pitted the prefabricated housing areas against each other: Halle-Neustadt against the Fritz-Heckert area. And all those interested on site were given a taste of Chemnitz with the traditional “Chemnitzer Platte”.

We were also allowed to present ourselves at the EinheitsEXPO as early as 18 September. Here, glass containers – one for each federal state – were spread all over the city.

We were proud to introduce ourselves at the Domplatz and showed what our motto “C the Unseen” actually stands for, what is hidden behind our four programme lines and also brought along a typical garage.
