SUMMARY:Artist talk: Uli Aigner [Friends of the PURPLE PATH]
DESCRIPTION:Artist talk on the exhibition: One Million\, Items 3501 and 35
02 + The new One Million Porcelain MiracleWith Uli Aigner\nMany decades ag
o\, Lößnitz was home to the smallest porcelain service in the world. It
was created in Meissen between 1911 and 1913 and comprised 142 pieces\, ea
ch as small as a fingernail. From 1929\, the miniature porcelain was exhib
ited to the public in the Lößnitz railway castle. During the GDR era\, t
he porcelain was smuggled to West Germany and exhibited in a museum in Rem
shalden. It was later taken over by a Bavarian antiques dealer from whom i
t was stolen. It has been missing ever since.\nThe artist Uli Aigner\, who
represents the PURPLE PATH in Lößnitz with her monumental porcelain obj
ects One Million\, Items 3501 + 3502\, has taken up this story. She is cre
ating a modern adaptation of the smallest porcelain service\, including fu
rniture\, in collaboration with the town\, the Lößnitz MAKERS\, the exhi
bitors of the Purple Path en miniature and the local heritage association.
Supporters in the form of sponsors are still being sought for the product
ion of all 142 pieces. If you would like to support the One Million Porcel
ain Miracle by becoming a sponsor\, please contact the Lößnitz Makers.\n
On 22 August\, the artist will explain her work on and with the smallest a
nd largest porcelains in the world.\nThe event is part of the programme of
the tour Unterwegs mit der Künstlerin Uli Aigner. The talk can be attend
 ed independently of the tour.
