SUMMARY:BLUR | THEATER DER WELT
DESCRIPTION:Duration: 45 minInformation: In English language. German surti
tles are displayed in the VR glasses.\n\nIn times of biohacking\, clones\,
and artificial intelligence\, the boundaries of life\, death\, and finali
ty are shifting. BLUR investigates this threshold and allows for what thea
tre can be. The audience is invited to dive into a virtual world. It appea
ls to all the senses and engenders the feeling of a new way of being\, but
it also destabilizes certain ties. Each visitor gets virtual reality glas
ses and then enters an artificially created world where everyone is an ava
tar. Motion Capture\, a movement software\, translates the visitors’ mov
ements to the digital world. Body\, voice\, and spatial orientation exist
simultaneously in real and digital worlds. Presence grows fragile\, not ex
actly tangible.\n\nFrom 18 June to 5 July 2026\, Chemnitz will be in the i
nternational spotlight: Germany's largest international theatre festival "
Theatre of the World" is coming to Chemnitz - directly following the Capit
al of Culture year 2025. For three weeks\, Chemnitz will become a meeting
place for artists\, spectators and theatre enthusiasts from all over the w
orld. A lively celebration of the performing arts will take place on stage
s\, in urban spaces and in unusual locations\, overcoming borders and brin
ging together stories from all parts of the world.\nNine international cur
 ators from Australia\, Canada\, Colombia\, Argentina\, South Africa\, Gree
ce\, Jordan\, India\, Senegal and China are responsible for the festival p
rogramme. They will meet in Chemnitz in November to select around 40 outst
anding productions - works that they have previously viewed in their regio
ns. The result is an inspiring panorama of current theatre forms\, languag
 es and perspectives.\n\n
