DESCRIPTION:Exhibition on innovation through movement\nThe significance of
  a river for a city is significant with the Rhine for Düsseldorf. However
 \, the small river Düssel gave the village its name\, just as Chemnitz wa
 s founded on the river Chemnitz. Industrialisation caused the cities to gr
 ow\, the riverbeds were straightened\, narrowed\, often built over and deg
 enerated into rivulets. Flood protection and the need for water in the cit
 ies prompted a rethink. In the exhibition and accompanying programme\, art
 ists from the two twin cities show how they understand the flowing and str
 eaming of things and thoughts\, the bridging and connecting of opposites\,
  the overcoming of borders\, migration flows and social developments in th
 e "river of time". Boats\, bridges\, images of traces\, conditions and dev
 elopments are motifs that will play a role in the multimedia artistic real
 isation in the form of objects\, sculptures\, installations\, images\, vid
 eos and performances. The exhibition will be shown in Chemnitz and in Octo
 ber 2025 in Düsseldorf at Werft77.
