Augustusburg, Lehngericht digital workshop

entrance free, donations requested

In preparation for the Advent season, the workshop in the Lehngericht will be open for a special hands-on activity: In a cosy atmosphere, individual Christmas tags made of wood will be created here, designed with your own motifs, names or small drawings. Under Paula's guidance, participants will learn how to digitise simple drawings using the graphics program Inkscape. The motif is then precisely cut out of wood using the laser cutter - an exciting insight into digital production and modern design techniques. Finally, the pendants can be painted and decorated - ideal as personalised Christmas decorations or as gifts.

The workshop is aimed at children aged 5 and over, but is also suitable for young people and adults who enjoy creative work and familiarising themselves with digital tools. Parents and children are also welcome to create together. Participation is free of charge; a donation of 5 euros is recommended for materials.

Visitors and creative tourists can experience regional culture and traditions at workshops. The Makerhubs are part of the Makers, Business & Arts programme. This main project of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 is all about promoting creative tourism offerings and cross-sector collaboration between industry and creative professionals. The project is being implemented by the Kulturhauptstadt Europas Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH in cooperation with the Landesverband der Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft Sachsen e. V.
