Three international artists are invited to live in Chemnitz for six weeks at a time and work on the theme of favour.\nDenise Lee / 李筑 (USA/Hong Kong/ Taiwan) and Philipp Kolychev (Czech Republic) have been guests at Sonnenbe rg since 11 July. They are living here\, getting to know the city and its people and developing new artistic ideas. They will be accompanied by the Chemnitz artist Anne Schädlich\, who is developing her own artistic posit ion in response to our guests.\nPhilipp Kolychev 's mobile installation in vites passers-by to play chess and then eat the pieces. In doing so\, he p oses questions about public space and the social interaction that takes pl ace there. Denise Lee also invites people to join in. In her workshops\, v isitors can create trickster or jester masks\, which are then worn in a jo int parade. In many cultures\, the mythical figure of the trickster\, whic h roughly corresponds to the jester\, symbolises social change. With a fin al parade\, Denise Lee invites people to bring transformation to the stree ts. Anne Schädlich\, on the other hand\, transforms the textile legacies on the streets of Chemnitz into areas that invite people to linger.
