  throughout the Ore Mountains. The result is a 293-page work that not only
  documents the size\, location and history of each arch\, but also preserv
 es numerous background stories that would otherwise have been forgotten. T
 he publication thus fills a gap in our knowledge and emphasises the import
 ance of the local Schwibbögen for regional identity. Heike and Wolfgang L
 orentz see their work as a contribution to the preservation of an intangib
 le cultural heritage of the Ore Mountains - and as an incentive for commun
