SUMMARY:Microproject | "Gemeinsam zu Tisch" – Encounter\, Exchange and C
 ommunity
DESCRIPTION:“Gemeinsam zu Tisch” is a regular get-together that brings
together people from different backgrounds\, generations and walks of lif
 e. The focus is not only on sharing a meal\, but above all on people meeti
ng one another\, exchanging ideas and feeling welcome.\nParticipants go sh
opping together\, prepare the meals together and then spend time eating to
gether. These simple\, everyday activities create a special atmosphere in
which conversations flow\, new connections are made and people can get to
know one another.\nThe programme offers newly arrived migrants and refugee
s\, in particular\, an important opportunity to network with others\, find
support and settle into their new surroundings more easily. At the same t
ime\, all participants benefit from the mutual exchange and learn about di
fferent perspectives\, cultures and life stories.\nStrengthening social re
lationships is a key part of the project. Many people\, particularly young
participants\, experience loneliness and insecurity due to being far from
their families\, a lack of social contacts or new life circumstances. At
‘Gemeinsam zu Tisch’\, they find an open space where trust can develop
and where they can meet people with whom they can share experiences and o
ffer mutual support.\nThrough the connections formed\, many participants g
ain greater self-confidence and motivation to actively shape their future.
They discuss training\, work and personal goals\, and receive support on
their journey towards social inclusion.\n"Gemeinsam zu Tisch" creates mome
nts of joy and togetherness. Cooking\, eating and laughing together brings
people closer\, breaks down prejudices and strengthens social cohesion in
the neighbourhood.\nThe regular attendance of an average of around 20 peo
ple – and sometimes more – demonstrates the great importance of this i
nitiative. It is therefore vital that ‘Gemeinsam zu Tisch’ continues s
o that it can keep providing an open space for meeting others\, receiving
support and fostering a sense of community.
