SUMMARY:PURPLE PATH Soundtrack - short concerts on the art and sculpture t
 rail
DESCRIPTION:Gottfried Silbermann was a "maker" of his time. Trained in Als
ace\, he returned to his native Saxony and used the resources of the regio
n around Freiberg to create organs and keyboard instruments that are still
unrivalled today.\nIn the year of the European Capital of Culture Chemnit
 z 2025\, the Gottfried-Silbermann-Gesellschaft e.V. is exploring these Eur
opean references under the festival motto "The Sound of Europe". Integrate
d into the Silbermann Days\, the "PURPLE PATH Soundtrack - the Silbermann
Summer at the PURPLE PATH" aims to add the power of music to the connectio
ns of the art trail.\nOn the weekend before the actual festival\, six shor
t twenty-minute concerts will draw attention to stations along the PURPLE
PATH\, to places within Silbermann's organ landscape. With "Pipes and Keys"
\, the focus will be on various wind instruments and the accordion as anot
her wind-powered instrument\, thus building a bridge to the organ as the m
ain focus of the Silbermann Days. The variety of installations and sculptu
res at the PURPLE PATH will inspire a musical programme ranging from baroq
ue to contemporary music.\nPerformers include pupils from music schools in
the partner municipalities as well as professional musicians. Playing alo
ngside each other\, but also together at eye level\, young and old want to
  make the PURPLE PATH resound.\nThe programme:\nSat 30 Aug | 17:00 | Mittw
