 vych: "Only freedom is unquestionable"
DESCRIPTION:The Ukrainian-born poet\, writer\, essayist and translator Yur
i Andrukhovych became known through the performance group Bu-Ba-Bu (Burles
 k-Balagan-Buffonada)\, founded in 1985. In experimental\, satirical poems\
, the group criticised actually existing socialism and had a lasting influ
ence on the Ukrainian literary scene. After the publication of his last vo

l Stefan Heym Award ceremony will take place on 18 March 2026 . With this
award\, the Board of Trustees honours Yuri Andrukhovych's outstanding lite
rary and journalistic work\, his commitment to European international unde
rstanding and his consistent literary involvement in public debates. Onlin
e registration is possible until 12 April 2026.
