SUMMARY:"See the Unseen" / INSIDE OUT
DESCRIPTION:Under the motto ‘C the Unseen’\, the Vokswagen Group and t
he European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 are inviting visitors to the
world-renowned INSIDE OUT art project at the Karl Marx Monument on Brücke
nstraße as part of the KOSMOS Festival from 13 to 15 June. The participat
ory project gives the people of the city a face - both literally and figur
atively.\nSince its inception in 2011\, more than 550\,000 people from 152
countries and all continents have taken part in the INSIDE OUT project. T
he idea behind the project is to make socially relevant topics such as div
 ersity\, community\, feminism\, racism and climate change visible.\nIn Che
mnitz\, too\, citizens and guests are given the opportunity to make their
personal message visible through large-format black and white portraits. T
hese will be taken on site in a specially set up photobooth - directly in
front of the highly symbolic Karl Marx Monument. The monumental bust comme
morates the period from 1953 to 1990\, when Chemnitz was known as ‘Karl
Marx City’ - a formative era that is firmly anchored in the city's colle
ctive memory. This place in particular thus becomes a platform for visions
of the future and individual voices.\nINSIDE OUT is supported by Volkswag
en Group Culture as part of the Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. The Volk
swagen Group's commitment to Chemnitz 2025 is part of its diverse cultural
sponsorship and its contribution to society in Saxony. The aim is to make
