Sylke Spröd was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1986 and studied at the TU Chemnitz from 2004 to 2011. Since 2013 she has been working as a freelancer in painting and illustration. She has attended courses at the HGB Leipzig Abendakademie with Mandy Kunze and Robert Schwark, among others, and in 2012 completed a one-year course in fine arts at the Volkshochschule Chemnitz.
