The artist

Dagmar Zemke was born in Chemnitz in 1958 and studied at the Berlin Weißensee School of Art with Volker Pfüller and Werner Klemke. From 1983 to 1989 she worked as a museum employee at the Chemnitz Municipal Art Collections. After living in Bielefeld for 10 years, she moved back to Chemnitz in 1999 and took over the management of the gallery artenreich. Since 2003 she has been working full-time as a freelance painter and graphic artist. From 2013 to 2015 she set up a temporary gallery at the cathedral in Frankfurt am Main, before she expanded her studio in Chemnitz in 2016 and participated in the “100 Saxon Graphics”. Dagmar Zemke has already participated in many (solo) exhibitions throughout Germany.
