The artist
<The artist "Lichtblau" was born in 1962 in Karl-Marx-Stadt and grew up in Niederwiesa. His first pictures were taken in 1980, one year later the artist started to work for the DSR in Rostock. In 1985 his first exhibition followed, for which he received much criticism, but also sold all his paintings. In 1990 he finishes his diploma studies as an engineer for ship machinery operation. Four years later he moved back to Niederwiesa, where the artist still lives and works today. Only in 1995 he started to call himself "Lichtblau" and since 1997 he has been exhibiting regularly, including 44 solo exhibitions in Chemnitz and the surrounding districts, but also in Weimar, Salzburg and several times in Italian cities. "Lichtblau" is also one of the founding members of the "Turmgalerie im Schloss Augustusburg e. V.". Since 2003 he has had his own studio.
