The artist

1951 in Crottendorf, Klaus Süß was born in the Erzgebirge. He is a heating engineer and an engineer for air and refrigeration technology. From 1978 to 1982 he worked in the gallery “Clara Mosch” and since 1986 he is a freelancer in Chemnitz. Two years later Klaus Süß received the “Wilhelm-Höpfner-Grafikpreis” of the exhibition “100 selected graphics of the GDR”. Since the 1990s Klaus Süß has been on study trips abroad, for example to South Africa, Israel and Tunisia. He illustrated books like “Baal” by Bertolt Brecht and fairy tales like “The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs”. In addition, he has made wooden relief panels on the theme “Stations of the Cross” for the Protestant Church in Eitorf and takes part in exhibitions at home and abroad.
