Intergenerational stories: Overcoming boundaries, shaping identities
A participatory exhibition about (East) German and (Eastern) European realities
How do the parents and grandparents of Generation Z talk about the socialist era and their experiences after the end of the Soviet Union? A look at the neighbouring states of Poland and the Czech Republic shows that not all socialism was the same and that the upheavals took different courses. An interactive exhibition brought together these experiences and memories in videos, objects and documents. It showed what influence the events of that time also had on young people in eastern Germany and Europe. In addition to the exhibition, dialogue formats, performances, film and a space were created for visitors to actively reflect on history after the fall of the Wall and the culture of remembrance.
