Meeting of all cultural ambassadors of the Capital of Culture application in Tietz

The Capital of Culture Office has received more than 50 applications for cultural ambassadors to serve on the Programme Council and prepare the Capital of Culture application.

The Steering Group for the strategic management of the application therefore decided that all applicants, regardless of their membership of the Programme Council, should be appointed as cultural ambassadors for the Capital of Culture project.

The large number of applications received and the encouragement expressed in this context for the project “Chemnitz 2025 – European Capital of Culture” is overwhelming. All the applications are bursting with ideas and show the courage and the will that the applicants bring with them to make Chemnitz the European Capital of Culture.

In order to discuss the common path to the Capital of Culture together with all applicants, a first meeting of all cultural ambassadors took place last Monday in Tietz. More than 30 cultural ambassadors were present and presented first projects and ideas.

Egmont Elscher, member of the steering group and chairman of the Cultural Advisory Board of the City of Chemnitz, was commissioned to bundle the commitment of all cultural ambassadors. Together with other founding members, he founded the Freundeskreis Chemnitz 2025 e. V. i. G.. As a registered association, the Circle of Friends would like to support the application of Chemnitz as European Capital of Culture with projects and actions.
