The Capital of Culture Office at Rosenhof 6 in Chemnitz was officially opened this evening. It is to be a meeting place for all those who want to get involved in the process. This is also where Chemnitz residents can get an insight into the application process for the Capital of Culture 2025 at any time.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig: “We hope that the office will become a permanent address for the people of Chemnitz. The door is open to everyone.” The office should be a meeting place for interested people, whether they bring ideas, projects, questions or simply curiosity.

Ferenc Csak, head of cultural operations and head of the office: “With the opening of the office, the application will finally be visible to everyone. We want to talk to the people of Chemnitz about it.” In addition, it is planned to use the area around the office for various activities starting in August. There will be music, performances and talks during the “Rosenhof evenings”.

The GGG provides the rooms and thus supports the application. The unusual furnishing of the office is an idea of the Städtische Theater Chemnitz, which contributed scenery from the “Faust” production, among others.

Mondays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment, doors are open in the Capital of Culture Office.
