The European Capital of Culture 2025 will be colourful, loud, energetic and creative! That much is certain. This is also proven by the record number of 113 micro-projects submitted. So many makers who want to shape their city and the region – the jury had a particularly hard time choosing. But after countless hours of heated debates and smoking heads, a decision has finally been made!

A total of 16 projects were selected and will receive funding.

But we would also like to thank all those who unfortunately were not selected this time. We, as the Team of Chemnitz2025, will be available to answer your questions and help you network.

Some of the selected projects will be realised in the next few weeks and we are looking forward to the first results!

Kulturscheune Burgstädt

Filling an old barn with new, creative life – a great idea from the makers of the Kulturscheune Burgstädt. Equipped with exhibition rooms and a stage, we are already looking forward to the first events!

Türme Europas klingend verbinden

In many places in Europe there are tower chimes – the carillons. The towers are thus connected by a band of good bell sounds, a greeting of peace, a note of friendship. These sounds of Europe are to be brought to Chemnitz via a playing and composition competition.

A place in the countryside, a place where art, culture and gastronomy meet? Good that such a place will soon be created with a new cabaret stage between Chemnitz, Burgstädt and Mittweida!

Angels as heavenly messengers and mediators of cultures – a participatory art project will trace these traces in the city.

Geocaching by bike – you will soon be able to experience this in Chemnitz and the cultural region! The initiators of the project are planning interactive bicycle stops where there will be all kinds of exciting and surprising things to discover.
