On August 16, 2018, starting at 5 p.m., interested parties are invited to another exciting open-air evening of Chemnitz city culture at the Rosenhof. The event is part of Chemnitz’ application to become the Cultural Capital of 2025.

“AUBrüche” is the motto for the application of the city of Chemnitz as cultural capital 2025 and also for the next Rosenhof evening.
Chemnitz continues to be characterised by complex ruptures, which make it the exciting city it is today and at the same time provide scope for new departures. What breaks can be identified in Chemnitz, in the city’s urban design, constructional, cultural and also social? And which new beginnings are possible and necessary today? How should Chemnitz deal with the existing disruptions and which future city and culture can be formed from them? These and other questions will be discussed in a relaxed atmosphere, with musical contributions at the piano and a small culinary offer.

All inhabitants of Chemnitz are invited to get involved in the project of applying for the title of Capital of Culture 2025. Dr. Urs Luczak, head of the art and culture department of the adult education centre, studied urban planning and sociology, will lead through the evening with illustrated contributions on Chemnitz and encourage an exchange on urban culture. In an open atmosphere, in the form of a workshop at tables with plans and pictures, suggestions can be made and ideas for Chemnitz can be spun. The event is free of charge and open to all interested parties without registration.
