The leitmotif for Chemnitz’s application to become European Capital of Culture 2025 is set. Next Tuesday, 3 July, the Capital of Culture Office will present the story and the title.

The elaborated story is the conceptual framework for the application. What connects Chemnitz with Europe? What topics do the people of Chemnitz share with other people in Europe? And what is the significance of culture in urban development and in relation to the challenges of the coming years? Questions that the story pursues. At the same time, however, it also describes the open scope for the projects with which the application will be concretized in the coming months.

Now that the main pillars of the concept have been defined, work on projects and sustainable perspectives for urban development is to be carried out in an intensive exchange with the people of Chemnitz. Therefore, the team around project manager Ferenc Csák invites all interested citizens to a table discussion in the Stadthallenpark on the same evening.

All citizens are invited to the evening table discussion at 7.30 pm in the Stadthallenpark to discuss the vision for the city with the Lord Mayor, the Capital of Culture team and representatives of the Programme Council and the application process steering group. After a brief presentation of the guiding ideas, the relaxed atmosphere of the park summer will be used for constructive exchange.
