One thing is clear, KarmaCity is everywhere. It can produce good things, but also frightening things. In Chemnitz, it has brought together Veronika Ahnert and Ahmed Béjaoui to create an intercultural encounter of the satirical kind. They use the weapons of humour to crack prejudices and take a bold look at the paradoxical abysses of everyday life for both bureaucratic immigrants and natives, around human and institutional hurdles, straight through the cocoa.
Whether this is good or frightening, premature or sustainable, is entirely up to your judgement. No matter where and why you have come from or whether you have always been there, as long as you still have the power to laugh, you are very welcome in KarmaStadt!
