The first decision was made on 12 December 2019. Together with Magdeburg, Nuremberg, Hanover and Hildesheim we are on the shortlist and are therefore invited to submit a detailed second bid book by September 21, 2020. On the 22th of October, a part of the European jury will visit Chemnitz and get an on-site explanation of our plans, while we will travel to Berlin on October 26st to present our complete application. In the following jury meeting the decision will be made: On 28 October 2020, the jury will announce which German city will become European Capital of Culture 2025.
