The town of Ehrenfriedersdorf will celebrate the vinyl record for one year as a contribution to the Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. The starting signal will be given on 31 January 2025 and the record will be launched!
On this evening, the project idea, the already fixed and planned dates will be presented and appetite for the record year will be whetted. Speaking of appetite: vinyl is usually black. For this reason, we will also be organising the culinary delights under this motto: The Bräunig bakery will present its black miner's bread, which was honoured at "So schmeckt Kulturregion" and is now one of the official breads of the cultural region. We will also be serving draught black beer from our local private brewery Specht.
Dr Enrico Pigorsch from Dresden is a recognised expert and has rendered outstanding services to the reappraisal and documentation of Ehrenfriedersdorf's record history. On this evening, he will present stories of the record pioneer August Kybarth and give an insight into the record and speaking machine factory that existed in the town from the 1920s to the 1950s. Some record rarities will also be on display. Contemporary witnesses will be available to talk to.
