200 cyclists from different countries are joining forces to set an example for peace. To do so, they will ride over 570 km and 6000 metres in altitude from this year's European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl to Chemnitz, the European Capital of Culture 2025 - a revival of the International Peace Ride, the "Course de la Paix", which first connected Europe via cycling in 1952. The cycling column will reach Chemnitz on 15 August and will be welcomed by Chemnitz cycling fans at the Eissportforum.
This project is cofinanced by tax funds on the basis of the parliamentary budget of the state of Saxony and by federal funds from the Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien (Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media), as well as funds from the City of Chemnitz.
