48-Hour Cooking Marathon

A delicious community weekend full of creative cuisine

The Makerhub NETZ-Werk Neukirchen is a kitchen for everyone. The region's mountain cuisine, known for its deep-rooted traditions, is reinterpreted here. Fine flavours and creative ideas combine to create an exciting culinary journey. In the creative rooms of NETZ-Werk Neukirchen, a former car dealership, you can experience how local ingredients and traditional recipes are transformed into contemporary delicacies.

Over three days, the 48-hour cookery marathon combined flavour, community and creative culinary art. During the cookery marathon, people chopped, stirred, tasted and talked together. The former car dealership was transformed into a Makerhub as part of Chemnitz 2025. A culinary meeting place for the Ore Mountains and beyond was created here.

A special highlight of this year's cooking marathon was the 5-course menu a la "Ore Mountain Cusine" on 16 August. Michelin-starred chef Benjamin Unger conjured up Ore Mountain cuisine on the menu and gave traditional dishes a new lease of life.

The evening was rounded off musically by zither soloist Thomas Baldauf.
