Capital of Culture always means seeing potential instead of problems. Trusting in bottom-up processes. Taking detours. Bringing together perspectives that meet far too rarely. Contradicting the "we've always done it this way". Finding the right mix of trust in local expertise and international ambition.

All of this can be seen in the development process with the nine Chemnitz 2025 Makerhubs. They are part of the "Makers, Business & Arts" flagship programme.

On the way to the culinary Makerhub in Neukirchen in the Ore Mountains, KREATIVES SACHSEN brought together expertise from the fields of gastronomy, architecture, woodworking, event management, interior design, education, youth work and the creative industries in an empty car dealership. The idea is to create very special relationships by cooking together, interacting with European guests and maintaining a close connection to local products and traditions. In an intensive prototyping process, the location has taken an important step towards transforming the site.

The first joint cooking events are already waiting for hungry guests next year.
