On 26 January 2023, the first event under the auspices of the regional management of the European Cultural Region Chemnitz became a reality: MAKERSNeujahr unterTAGE.

True to the motto "Everything comes from the mountain", 130 movers and shakers from the city and the region travelled three kilometres into the largest tin chambers in Europe. The guests got to know each other on the mine railway, made new contacts and exchanged ideas. Later, the guests danced 180 metres underground to the sounds of the 'Banda Comunale' and the Annaberg 'HEART CHOR'. The traditional mountain bread was also served.

The Zinnkammern Pöhla e.V. visitor mine belongs to Schwarzenberg and is located on the PURPLE PATH. The event thus strengthened the connection between Chemnitz and the European cultural region, and the music immersed the mine in international sounds.MAKERSNew Year's Day was a first taste of what awaits us all at the PURPLE PATH over the next few years. We're looking forward to it! Photos: Josephine Leonhardt-Dietrich
