Beyond geometry. Frei Otto × Kengo Kuma
A programme in honour of Frei Otto’s 100th birthday
Frei Otto fundamentally influenced the architecture of the second half of the 20th century like no other. His pioneering spirit and his work in lightweight construction were a source of inspiration for countless architects, engineers and artists worldwide. Among them is the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Frei Otto is rarely associated with his birthplace Chemnitz-Siegmar. A multi-part programme, curated by numerous partners and consisting of events, workshops and exhibitions, will highlight him as a significantly important personality from Chemnitz.
