Discovering Chemnitz off the beaten track - this was made possible by the very special ChemNetz city map. It made over 60 places of independent culture visible to Chemnitz residents and their guests. Venues, meeting places and projects whose uniqueness made the city worth living in and travelling to. The bilingual map was distributed free of charge in digital and printed form at various locations. A supporting programme of over 25 events in many districts and throughout the entire Capital of Culture year made the lively cultural offerings at these locations and in their neighbourhoods visible. Neighbourhood maps were created by children for children, walking trails inspired by residents' personal stories, and lectures and workshops explored the question of how cartography could change the perception of a city. The message was clear: there was no lack of culture in Chemnitz. You just had to discover it. For example with ChemNetz.
