Two young orchestras and two Capitals of Culture will be coming together in the spirit of harmony in September 2025. The guitar orchestra at the Städtische Musikschule Chemnitz and an ensemble from Finland’s Oulu Conservatory, based in the European Capital of Culture 2026, are set to present: the world premiere »Winds« for gui- tar by Janko Rašeta, a collection of Finnish folk songs, Pieter van der Staak’s »Concertino 3«, and other pieces. Commissioned for the event, »Winds« will secure Chemnitz’s place in the annals of Capital of Culture history and continue to enrich the cultural life of future generations of guitarists, musicians, and listeners.
