The narrative of the PURPLE PATH trail »Everything comes from the mountain« emphasises the formative role of mountains on civilisation and culture. The Ore Mountains are a prime example of how mountains shape the identity and life of a region. A series of »Speeches on the Mount« by philosophers, sociologists and theologians intends to encourage dialogue on European values such as peace and solidarity. All events are open to all public, access is free of charge. The idea is to foster exchanges that transcend national borders and pave the way for a cosmopolitan, democratic Europe. As such, the mountain is a symbol of hope for foresight, the ability to overcome boundaries and to gain new perspectives.
