Maps are everywhere - and they couldn't be more different!
Whether it is Google Maps, city maps or hiking maps - maps are used every day for orientation, on holiday or at school. They are omnipresent and an integral part of everyday life.
But how did maps come about and what role do they play as an instrument of power? How are they used and what can be learnt through them? How can they break down existing hierarchies and open up new perspectives?

The panel will discuss maps as a tool of power, the critical cartography that questions these structures and how maps can also be used as a tool for emancipatory perspectives.

The panel: Theresa (Use-It Erfurt), Lisa (ChemNetz), Katapult Magazin (enquired), Krikkel (Kritisches Kartenkollektiv Leipzig) (enquired)
