Art and nature come together in a special way in the Lehngerichtgarten: The cyanotype station makes creative design in the open air accessible to everyone. The station invites anyone interested to try out the historical technique of cyanotype photography and create their own works of art. It can be used freely and individually and offers a unique opportunity to live out creativity and inspiration in a green setting.

Cyanotype, also known as blueprinting, is one of the oldest photographic printing techniques. With the help of light-sensitive materials and natural sunlight, unique, deep blue prints are created. Leaves, flowers, objects or your own drawings can serve as motifs - there are no limits to your imagination.

The station is designed to be suitable for beginners. Instructions and the necessary materials are available on site. Anyone interested can drop by spontaneously and get creative.

The workshop is part of the event series ‘333 Hours Workshop of Wonders’, a project within the framework of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. This measure is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget adopted by the Saxon State Parliament and by federal funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as well as by funds from the City of Chemnitz.
