Chemnitz, Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz

Like no other, Frei Otto gave fundamental impetus to the architecture of the second half of the 20th century. His pioneering spirit and his work in lightweight construction were a source of inspiration for numerous architects, engineers and artists worldwide. These include the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Frei Otto is rarely associated with his birthplace of Chemnitz-Siegmar. A multi-part programme, conceived by numerous partners and consisting of events, workshops and exhibitions, is intended to highlight him as an important personality in Chemnitz.
