The ‘Climbing over Chemnitz’ project is developed by Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde, with the support of Chemnitz 2025, European Capital of Culture, and in close cooperation with the Tanz | Moderne | Tanz festival (Germany) and the SE.S.TA choreographic development centre (Czech Republic).

The idea of the project is to work with artists from France, Germany and Czech Republic to create new collective acts and highlight the urban and human heritage of towns that have much in common. Chemnitz (Germany) and Žďár nad Sázavou (Czech Republic) have a rich traditional heritage that was rapidly transformed into heavy industrial zones, which has had an impact on present-day society. The ‘Climbing over Chemnitz’ project aims to re-enchant collective memories and enable different communities and countries to meet, work and create together through the performative arts.
