From the classic factory to the work of the future - new work in industry? Sounds like a start-up or coworking space at first, but it is precisely this change that is finding its way into the production halls. It's about more freedom, personal responsibility and co-determination. And that affects everyone.

In interactive workshops, visitors can produce their own products, learn about working models and help shape them. There will be creative textile workshops for children, plus music, exciting discussions on the podium - and plenty of inspiration.

Together, we will take a look back and forward: How did people work in the past, what do they experience today and how do they imagine the future? Participate and help shape the work of tomorrow.

The festival is part of the "Metamorphosis of Workwear" project, which, among other things, documents the transformation of the world of work. The opportunity can be used to talk about working life in the past and today, to share your own experiences and visions for the future of work.

Tales of Transformation

In its major exhibition ‘Tales of Transformation’, the Industriemuseum Chemnitz compares the development of former industrial hotspots: Chemnitz, Gabrovo, Łódź, Manchester, Mulhouse and Tampere. The exhibition sheds light on the impulses for the future coming from these cities and what they can learn from each other: rapid growth and splendid wealth paired with precarious living conditions - later a radical collapse and the necessary reinvention. The exhibition is part of the main programme of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
