Interior design students at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle have designed a narrative trail for #3000Garagen that marks ten selected garage locations in Chemnitz's urban space. Seven design duos present interventions that invite the people of Chemnitz and guests of the Capital of Culture to experience and linger and discover the history of the city and its everyday culture from the garage perspective. Discarded garage doors become street furniture. Stools bring collaborative work back to life. Installations make garage finds visible, offer fun facts to decipher or track down local stories. And for the very brave, there are opinion barometers and thresholds to overcome in a convivial atmosphere.
