Committed people from Chemnitz and the region plant apple trees and fruit trees in spring and autumn. Pupils and children, employees from companies, cultural and social institutions as well as passionate people from allotment garden associations, neighbourhoods and districts are shaping their living space by planting old apple varieties and harvesting valuable produce.

There will be three planting sites:

1. Augustusburg allotment site between Eppendorfer Straße and Ludwig Würkert Straße

2. Frankenberger Straße 19/21, corner of Nordstraße

3. Kurfürstin-Anna-Garten, Schloßstraße 1

LIVING NEIGHBOURHOOD

GELEBTE NACHBARSCHAFT is a main project of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, focussing on sustainability and a green city. Joint planting campaigns bring neighbourhoods in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region closer together. The participatory project is flanked by suitable educational programmes and artistic activities.
