Future question(s) Erzgebirge: Stay or go?

The Erzgebirgskreis - a region in transition. While one generation had to master the change, the next generation is confronted with new challenges. Both generations are characterised by different experiences - but have to answer the same question for themselves: stay or go?

In many places, rural areas are characterised by structural change and economic challenges. The people of the Erzgebirgskreis are faced with the task of combining tradition and modernity and finding new ways for sustainable development. The region is also a place where different social debates are in dialogue with each other - often controversial ones. But despite these challenges, the region offers many opportunities to provide impetus and create structures for democratic participation.

Young and old alike have thought more than once about the future prospects, challenges and wishes of the region. But what prompts people to leave the region? Why do they stay? And how do they actively shape their future prospects?

On 17 December at 7 p.m., we cordially invite you to our event "Future question(s) Erzgebirge: Stay or go?" in Thalheim to discuss the perspectives of the different generations in the Erzgebirgskreis.

A place for intergenerational dialogue

Our aim is to bring people of different age groups together to talk about what it means to have grown up in the Ore Mountains. We want to discuss future perspectives and find common approaches to actively shape them together.

We are looking forward to inspiring ideas from our guests Sylvia Schlicke (Thalheim neighbourhood management), Indira Görner (student) and Ellie Steglich (Initiative (K)Einheit). As part of the event, there will be an insight into the series documentary "(K)Einheit - Wie die Gen Z über den Osten denkt". Here we will see 10 young people and their perspectives on the question "Stay or go".

Date: 17 December 2024
Admission: 18:30
Start: 19:00
Admission: Free

The event is part of the project "Generationsgeschichten: Overcoming Borders, Shaping Identity(ies)" and is organised by the Initiative (K)Einheit.
