Henrike Naumann explores her East German origins and her family history. She combines paintings by her grandfather Karl Heinz Jakob with furniture from the post-reunification period. In the current production, she includes the painting ‘The Cellist’ and questions the legacy of the GDR and the ideological evaluation of art.

The PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail presents permanent contemporary sculptures in public spaces and tells stories from Chemnitz and 38 communities in the region. Works by more than 60 artists are on display.
